A graduate of the School of Business and Management Institut Teknologi Bandung (SBM ITB), Ayesha says her first year at Quipper has developed her data analytics & sales strategy skills so much. Now, she reflects herself as someone who strives to be a data driven person.

About her role

“My role is responsible for the acquisition strategy of Quipper Indonesia B2C and B2B, specifically handling the Direct Sales team from the planning to execution to evaluation phase,” says Ayesha Aulia Fachira. Ayesha is a Senior Strategic Planner Quipper Indonesia. She joined Quipper in 2020 at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Not only her first opportunity working in the Edtech industry, but this is also her first time working in a strategy team. “At first, the challenge is to understand the business process, yet I have to catch up with all the tasks. So I tried to learn from what the team has done in the past, find the gap, and discuss how to make improvements with the managers. I also think that feedback helps me to keep improving,” she shares.

Ayesha showed that requesting feedback at work is not a daunting task. She finds out that feedback is a great self-development tool. “I regularly ask for feedback not only from the managers but also from the people I’ve been working with. It allows me to see others’ perspectives to keep me open to new ideas and learn from them.”

Working through the pandemic

Ayesha’s first day at Quipper was the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. As everyone faced, it’s not easy to split the working environment from office based to remote based. It can be harder for Ayesha who just joined the company and is still understanding and catching up with the company’s business process.

Though we implemented working remotely up till now, it doesn’t mean everything is disconnected and less engaging. In fact, for Ayesha, she still has a strong relationship with Quipperior and met a supportive environment. She pointed out that “I think the working environment of Quipper Indonesia is excellent! I met nice and lovely people here, which are very helpful & supportive to work together. There’s always something to share with my fellow quipperior.”

Working closely with data

Interestingly, as a science major student, Ayesha wanted to be a journalist back when she was in high school. “I was a science major student who didn’t really enjoy science subjects. I wanted to become a professional journalist. Unfortunately, the probability of a science student getting accepted into a communication study program was very low. Therefore, the escape plan was to look for another social major in university who accepts science students. So, if it’s aligned with my goals when I was young, it’s definitely not, but I’m very grateful for choosing business school instead. Turns out, I am very passionate about sales and marketing. All the knowledge I got from business school drove me here.”

Her first year at Quipper has developed her data analytics & sales strategy skills so much. “I learn to be a data-driven person. The findings from data analysis help me to communicate the acquisition strategy to the direct sales team. When it comes to the execution, I found it interesting to prove a hypothesis from the field as well as discussing the solution with the team,” she adds.

The year of growth

“I was not confident to give my arguments and opinion on discussion issues or initiatives. I was afraid that I didn’t have a strong background when I’m addressing something. Now that I am more familiar with my tasks and those historical data, I have more courage to deliver what I’m thinking by providing backgrounds from my findings.”

Ayesha would like to call her first year at Quipper as ‘The Year of Growth’. “I was just trying to catch up with the business process, until I didn’t realize I had acquired many new skills and expanded my knowledge. I feel blessed that with all the limitations during this pandemic a very huge opportunity to grow came to me. I promise myself to keep learning and maximizing every opportunity given to me.”

There are no limits to what you can accomplish, the only limit is our mind. No matter how hard it is or how hard it gets, you’re going to make it!
