Learn and Adapt Quickly in a Healthy Environment
Even though she’s fairly new in Quipper, Adriana can familiarize herself quickly with a lot of cross-division coordination. Working at several agencies, she shared how a good work-life balance and healthy work culture here made Quipper the longest-serving company she has worked for. Let’s hear Adriana’s story and how she was honored as one of the Quipper Champions 2022.
You’re fairly new to Quipper. What makes it easy for you to catch up with the team and tasks so you can be honored as a Quipper Champion?
My role in Quipper involves a lot of cross-division coordination. This allows me to familiarize myself quickly with the different teams’ focus, tasks, and how we can work together. By understanding the process and each team’s efforts, I can see how we can achieve a common goal that satisfies multiple teams’ interests. From there I create a proposal, and because the interests are aligned, plus the very friendly Quipper culture where everyone’s happy to help, we’ve successfully launched many initiatives; some of which deliver very satisfactory results and are now done regularly.
What made you decide to join Quipper?
Coming from agencies, I was considering whether to join another agency or finally make a jump into a brand. I’m glad that I did because by working within a brand, I get to tap into much more data and information that I could leverage to make plans/strategies on campaigns that deliver desired impact to the company. The companies I worked with before are also smaller in size, and I wanted to work in a bigger company with international reach for my future growth.
From what we can see from your employment history, Quipper is the longest-serving company you’ve worked for. What made you stay long at Quipper?
The opportunity to learn and grow, which aligns with my interest and career aspiration.
The positive and healthy work culture is also a big contributor to why I like staying with Quipper. You spend your time and focus on the tasks and not much on office politics/drama. The colleagues at Quipper are also positive and ready to help, we work and collaborate effectively and efficiently. If there’s an issue, we try to take the learnings, then solve it together, and not push the blame around.
We saw that you like baking. How do you stay productive in your hobby and work professionally?
By having a good work-life balance. I don’t do a lot of overtime, and it is not expected nor pressured by colleagues. I spend my personal time doing my hobbies — one of which is baking. I don’t have to stress about work during my time, and simply explore my interests. We have to do something that fills us up with joy and rest properly so we don’t burn out.
How does Quipper support you in your career development as a Marketer?
There are a lot of tasks that a marketer does. I believe my managers and colleagues can see where my weakness and strength lie and allow me to play into my strengths while giving me constructive feedback. We also split tasks into what would be the best and most efficient way to complete the projects. There’s also a regular performance review where we’re asked about our career aspirations and the managers will provide advice and perhaps can also look out for opportunities for growth in that particular area.
What do you hope you could get by working at Quipper?
Working at Quipper has allowed me to learn how to work and liaise with team members from different departments. Regularly working cross-department was a great opportunity to learn various projects and make connections with colleagues — especially when we’re working from home. Whereas if you work more independently it can get somewhat isolated. I’m also working to develop more skills, which I hope to be proficient at it. Skills such as coaching and leadership for my team, effective communication and presentation skills, managing change, and being agile.
