Serving The Best Content for Indonesian Education
As someone who comes from a family with an educational background and a father of a soon-to-be Junior High School student, working as a man behind the scenes of the education content at Quipper feels like a gift for Ahmad Marzuqi. Let’s find out what made him love his job and how his responsibilities bring him to be one of the Quipper MVPs in 2022.
Could you please share what you are doing in your role at Quipper?
As a Content Production Head, I undertake several responsibilities, such as leading the encoder team as part of the Content Team working on input/encoding of raw materials from content production to the Quipper platform, supporting content-specific recruitment for many teachers and subject specialist position; initiated and helped manage multiple Quipper pilot projects: Ask tutor Masterclass, Quipper Live Class, Quipper Bank Soal; and managing almost the entire process of Paket Intensif UTBK SBMPTN at Quipper, starting from finding resources for mapping, liaising with 3rd parties, managing production, managing input and QC processes, and supporting promotions.
Other than that, I’m also responsible for managing the A-Z process in the Bank’s Quipper production process, hiring dozens of PICs, managing the production process, managing the QC process until the content can be published to Quipper users with good quality; supporting content for all cross-division projects including Ilmupedia & Quipper Championship 2022, and will manage the production of the first Paket Intensif SIMAK UI.
Do you enjoy and find passion in what you are doing?
I have a family with an educational background, so working at Quipper and the Content Team is a big gift that I am always grateful for because it has an impact not only limited to one school, but wider for Indonesian education, maybe hundreds of thousands or millions of students as our users.
In economics, the education business is a service whose results can only be felt by consumers in the long-term, while at Quipper, we can immediately see the benefits of content/products that are produced directly for students (short-term), for example from their graduation to their favorite school/PTN what the students dream of.
Preparing quality content for Quipper users is like a chef who cooks delicious food in the kitchen. I am very excited to always be able to provide the best content for Quipper users so that they can benefit both short-term and long-term for their lives.
How do you see yourself when you started your career at Quipper and now after almost 7 years working here?
I was one of the early members when Quipper was still growing in Indonesia. At that time, I joined Quipper with a background of having worked in educational institutions with a different (smaller) scope. The growing development of Quipper and its organization affects my professional ability to work in a highly productive, more structured, but still enjoyable culture.
As you’re working on content production, you must be having to pay attention to any updates about education. How do you catch up with all of that?
There are some things I do to catch up with the changes in education such as participating in webinars, reading news related to education, reading educational articles, and following the latest regulations issued by the government through the Ministry of Education, also developing networks to channels related to education and the education industry. As a parent, I also follow the educational developments that occur at school from my children’s experiences.
What is your biggest accomplishment in content development at Quipper? How did your team support you on that accomplishment?
Paket Intensif UTBK SBMPTN which is released every year. I am the PIC of Paket Intensif UTBK SBMPTN at Quipper, which has been one of the mainstay content we present on the platform for several years. I worked to manage this project from A-Z, starting from preparing the content mapping resources until it finally needed to be inputted and finalized, then published to the user.
As a father and an employee at an education technology company, what do you hope for in better education in Indonesia?
My eldest child will enter Junior High School next year, which means she has started to enter the age of Quipper users. As part of the Content Team, I am very confident that Quipper content will be able to help my child’s education and Indonesian education in general.
