The Rising Star: From A Sales Staff into A Branch Head

Why did you choose to work at Quipper?

Honestly, Quipper Indonesia is the first multinational and technology company I work with. I decided to get out from my comfort zone as a Teacher and joined Quipper as an Education Consultant where I have to meet students — the routine I got used to. Surprisingly, I learned many things I have never been taught before in college.

You came from the Sales team, how do you manage to close sales target?

In the beginning, I was not focusing on achieving sales target, rather, I tried my best in performing as an Education Consultant for our users, such as motivating students’ zeal and encourage as many students as possible to maximize their study through Quipper Video as their best friend in online learning platform. I always believe that hard work and sincerity will get paid off great at the end. Having that in mind, last year when I focused on the target, the result was very satisfying.

You step up your level from Staff to Branch Head, how do you feel about that?

I never imagined that I will be standing in these shoes, acting as a Branch Head, especially knowing that I was freefalling from being a teacher into a marketer.

Yes, shifting my career was not easy at all. My parents, who always told everyone that her daughter that was taking Master’s Degree worked as an Assistant Professor (and Professor to be, they said), did not even want to tell anyone that their daughter is working at Quipper. However, I never even a second regret my decision to join Quipper. How are my parents doing now? Every time they meet our family, friends, or neighbors, they now proudly tell people that their daughter is working at Quipper, a multinational company (while showing Quipper’s brochures that they always put in our living room’s table). How do I feel? I can’t even explain my pride and gratitude for being a part of Quipper Indonesia family.

What did you do before joining Quipper?

I took a Master’s Degree in Biology Education. After I finished my Bachelor’s Degree, I worked as a Biology Teacher in one of private high schools in Surabaya. One day, I came to realize that I need to challenge myself to do something bigger. Then I decided to take a Master’s Degree and made a promise to myself that whatever job I would get after finishing my Master’s Degree, I believe that it would be the best for me. Finally, I found Quipper and worked at the company right after my graduation, and up to this moment, I have never been thinking of looking for other opportunities out there. Simply because I found Quipper is a perfect combination of an exciting and challenging place to work and grow.

You were awarded as Quipper MVP 2019. Tell us your experience during MVP trip in Japan!

If there is a single word to describe how happy and proud I am, then that would be exactly how I felt when I was awarded as Quipper MVP 2019. It was such an honorable thing! I really learned a lot and experience many first-time moments, from traveling to other cities, provinces, to traveling to Japan for the MVP trip. I then realized how much I have grown (not only in weight) but also in knowledge and experience.

Until this moment, I always believe that Quipper is absolutely the perfect place for those who seek growth in personal and professional development.
