Ahmad Marzuqi is one of Quipper’s Content Officers. He was awarded Quipper Champion 2020 from Quipper’s Content team. Here he shares his thoughts and feelings towards his long journey in Quipper.

The Space Between Time

When I was young, I always envisioned myself becoming one of the experts and best people in whatever field that I would pursue in my future work.

A person that is able to manage a large team and at the same time be a mentor to younger team members.

And here I am.

I’m a Content Officer that juggles through various responsibilities in my work. I handle UTBK SBMPTN projects, Teacher hirings, support Cross Division projects from the content side, handle everything related to Content Encoding, and many more!

This year marks my fourth year in Quipper. As well the beginning of a new chapter in my life — which I call “The Take-Off Phase”.

When given the Quipper Champion Award, it felt like riding on an airplane that has set off from the ground to travel to a faraway place — a much better and beautiful place, a higher place in life.

I always believe that in life, there is no such word as enough, whether it’s creating a masterpiece or becoming a professional — there is only better.

Me four years ago, and me today have grown significantly together throughout the years here in Quipper. And if I can pick one of the most significant growth that I can see in myself today, it would be my leadership.

Growing In Leadership

Positioned with a great responsibility to manage a large team with diverse backgrounds of professional experience was the biggest challenge I had to face.

Content team has five content officers who run various projects at the same time. And with the limited resources that we have — it is very important to be able to allocate resources effectively for all running projects.

Leading a project in the content team means becoming a leader for many team functions such as, subject specialists, teachers, production crews, video editors, animators, illustrators, layouters, encoders, reviewers and content writers — more than 50 members in total!

With that fact, therefore strong leadership, active listening, strong work ethics, and advanced project management skills, are not only necessary but crucial to have in my day-to-day work.

Embracing The Diverse Colors Each Team Member Brings

Having a team with diverse backgrounds and experiences only means one thing — differences in many aspects of work are not only visible but inevitable to happen.

However, it’s the differences that makes our team rich in color.

Having differences in terms of standards, as well work habits among team members, encourages us to always communicate often, and clearly on finding the most effective and efficient work process that is suitable for us, and creates the best flow for the project to run smoothly.

And with that Content Team is able to achieve our goal, which is to create the best quality of content for students as well teachers across Indonesia.

Let’s Take-Off Together

As we’ve taken off to higher and much more beautiful place. I hope through this new ride, I get to do more and contribute more for the company, and just keep on leveling up!

To Young Ahmad,

Never be satisfied with your accomplishment now, always do it better than you are doing today. And always be a sunlight to other people. Because the best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.
